We have covered some of the wierd colour schemes used for 'Surfin' training at Amberley on the two CAC Sabres (A94-922 and 962) a couple of times. Much less known is that there was also a CAC Winjeel (A85-410) used for the same purpose. A85-410 was one of the airframes that had been used for FAC duties at Williamtown, at the end of it's life there it went to Amberley to be used by the trainees.

Winjeel A85-410 also received at least one non standard scheme shown here.

After it's use at Amberley, 410 went to the QAM (Queensland Air Museum). Shown during a display day there. For some unknown reason they marked it with the serial A85-17. Martin Edwards via ADF Serials.

A85-410 being disassembled by the look of it at QAM. Martin Edwards via ADF Serials.

The airframe is now on display (indoors) at QAM. They repainted it unfortunately. Martin Edwards via ADF Serials.
